Kelly Garrett
Maid of Honor
Kelly is Britlyn's younger sister (no, they aren't twins!). They have grown very close over the last few years even with 1,100 miles between them. Between the almost daily phone calls, and trips to see each other in Sacramento and Denver, they have remained close. Silly stories about their dogs (Buoy and Koa), new yummy recipes or fun date night ideas are some of their favorite things to share with each other. Kelly is ambitious, articulate and funny; Britlyn is honored to have Kelly by her side as her Maid of Honor!
Nick Bean
Best Man
Nick and Matt grew up together in the same hometown of Mannsville, OK. They first met through mutual friends where they played one-on-one basketball at his grandparents' home. Matt's first loss to Nick resulted in several years of Matt trying to redeem himself in frequent rematches. Over the years, they have supported each other through all of life’s ups and downs. Their passion for all things sports and their competitive nature have always kept them close. Beyond the basketball court, Nick has become like family.
Koa
Dog of Honor
Koa is Britlyn's best friend and steadfast companion. She has more spunk than your average pup, is ever-loyal, loves swimming and adventuring, and is always the first to greet you. Although Brit & Koa have been inseparable since the beginning, Koa has quickly bonded with Matt and truly loves having him around.
Devin Shrum
Groomsman
Devin (aka "Shrum") went to high school with Matt, after which their friendship grew stronger. They, along with several of the groomsmen, would often spend time together at Shrum’s house and get into all kinds of fun, Oklahoma shenanigans. Matt cherishes their friendship and considers Shrum to be one of the most down to earth people he’s ever met.
Devyn Lackner
Bridesmaid
Devyn and Britlyn have been friends for almost 10 years; they met at a local Crossfit gym soon after Britlyn moved to Sacramento. Dev and Brit quickly bonded over their love of fitness, adventure and exploring new bars and restaurants in midtown Sacramento. Dev always asks the most thoughtful questions, and continually gives great advice. Brit appreciates Dev's insightfulness and passion.
Matt Holt
Groomsman
Matt (aka “Moose”) is a friend of Matt's from growing up. Several of the groomsmen would spend time together exploring, playing hide and seek, paintballing, and watching UFC fights. Moose, along with Price, Garris, & Shrum share the same Oklahoma tattoo that Matt has above his knee. Moose is a military veteran and member of Oklahoma City’s law enforcement. Moose has always been a loyal friend; Matt is proud to have him as a groomsman.
Emma Dettwiler
Bridesmaid
Emma and Britlyn have been very close friends since Brit first moved to Sacramento. They were introduced when Brit took a job working for Emma's dad. She was Brit's first friend in town; their relationship has only grown stronger over the years! It was during one of Emma's trips to Sacramento that the two of them discovered the winery where Matt later proposed. Brit loves Emma's sense of humor and thoughtfulness; she is always the first to acknowledge all of Brit and Matt's life events, big and small.
Price Buckaloo
Groomsman
Price and Matt first met at age four playing T-ball (Go Roadrunners!). Their love of baseball continued into high school, where they were high school teammates. After graduating, they continued their college journey together as roommates and went on to graduate from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Matt doesn’t have many memories or stories to tell without Price being mentioned. He is even-keeled and genuine and Matt's oldest friend.
Karly Zacher

Karly and Britlyn met several years ago in Sacramento through their mutual friend, Emma. They quickly bonded over their passion for real estate, wine, and hosting events. She has become one of Brit's closest friends and confidants. Karly has been a constant as they navigate life's milestones and challenges. Brit loves how much she and Karly laugh when they are together; Karly's smile is infectious! Brit describes Karly as supportive and generous. Karly and her husband just welcomed their first baby; Brit can't wait to watch her flourish in this next life chapter.
William Watterson
Groomsman
Matt and William attended school together from pre-K through their senior year of high school. Some of their best memories were made having pool parties at William’s granny’s house, and riding ATVs. William was an adventurous driver and Matt barely escaped as his ATV passenger! Nonetheless, Matt, William and several of the other groomsmen spent countless hours aimlessly driving around town listening to music together. They later were college roommates at Oklahoma State and Southeastern Oklahoma State. Matt is excited to have him as a groomsman.
Julea Juarez
Bridesmaid
Julea and Britlyn have been friends since they met moving into their freshman dorm rooms together at California Lutheran University. They were on the track & field team together through college and both were captains their senior year. Julea was a sprinter on the team while Brit threw the javelin. Over the years, the two have stayed in touch with trips to Las Vegas, Oregon, Southern California and Sacramento. Julea is upbeat and adventurous.
Garris Buckaloo
Groomsman
Garris is one of Matt’s longest friends. He is Price’s older brother; the trio has been running around since childhood. Price and Garris were the only two kids to show up to Matt’s 7th birthday party - a tragic, yet affirming, core memory. Matt and Garris were college roommates. Garris is now a safety manager on the largest dam construction project in the US in the last 25 years. Matt describes Garris as genuine and honest; Matt can always count on Garris to give it to him straight.
Andrew Garrett
Groomsman
Andrew is Britlyn’s younger brother. Brit would describe him as energetic, creative, and someone who continually challenges her to broaden her perspectives. Andrew has grown close to Matt over the past four years; they have connected through annual holiday trips to Phoenix, a family vacation in Hawaii and Andrew’s recent visit to Sacramento. Andrew immediately made Matt feel welcome and a part of the family with his infectious and charismatic personality. Brit and Matt are excited to have their brother be a part of their big day.
Kyle Lackner
Groomsman
Kyle was introduced to Matt through Brit's close-knit group of friends who all met through CrossFit; Matt was very quickly welcomed to the boys' group chat (a momentous feat!). Kyle and Matt bonded through their love of sports and Coors Light and have spent many weekends together on double dates exploring Northern California. Kyle has been a key component to helping Matt feel at home in Sacramento. He is good-hearted, personable and steadfast; Matt describes him as someone people naturally gravitate toward.
Greg Dettwiler
Officiant
After getting engaged, the easiest and first wedding-planning decision for Brit & Matt was asking Greg to officiate. Britlyn was first introduced to Greg in 2015, soon after moving to Sacramento. Brit applied to a Craigslist (yes, Craigslist) ad for a part-time marketing job and ended up with Greg as a boss (his cool Australian accent was a great selling point). Britlyn worked with Greg for nearly 8 years, during which time Koa was their office dog (from the age of 8 weeks onward). Greg has become one of her absolute favorite people! Britlyn would describe Greg as her best friend, mentor and one of the most impactful people in her life. Matt and Greg's friendship has grown strong over the last four years through their mutual love of real estate, investing, and a good margarita. You're promised to laugh when these two get together! Britlyn and Matt are truly honored to have Greg as part of their special day and consider him family. Cheers, mate!
