The RSVP deadline is Friday, March 8, 2024, however, we encourage you to RSVP as soon as you know you'll be able to celebrate with us! We highly recommend that you reserve lodging at Gold Canyon Golf Resort & Spa as soon as possible as accommodations are limited. Reservations should be made by January 18, 2024 at the latest, but earlier booking is strongly encouraged. Other lodging in the area is sparse. Please refer to the "Travel" page for more information.
While we love children and plan on having some of our own one day, our wedding will be an adults-only affair.
The average temperature in the Phoenix area in April typically ranges from highs in the mid 80s to lows in the mid 50s. This is a great time to visit the Phoenix area as temperatures are usually mild and warm.
The wedding will be at The Windmill Winery in Florence, Arizona. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside and the reception will be inside a beautiful barn. If the weather is on the cooler side, we will have heaters/blankets available for our guests.
The wedding dress code is semi-formal. Suggested attire is a cocktail-length dress or dressy separates for women and a suit and tie for men.
Gold Canyon and Florence are more remote and transportation options such as Uber and Lyft are extremely limited. Please consider a rental car and taking advantage of our wedding-day shuttles (RSVP required). Refer to the "Travel" page for detailed information.
We encourage all guests to arrive by 3:30pm. The ceremony will begin at 4:00pm. Should you arrive early, you can check out the Windmill Winery Tasting Room! They have a great selection of wines and some snacks. The tasting room is open on Fridays from 11am-5pm.
Upon arrival, guests will be seated for the ceremony. After the ceremony, the bridal party and family will be taking photos. During this time, guests will be able to enjoy cocktail hour, including drinks and light snacks. Following cocktail hour, we'll move into the nearby barn for the reception, with dinner & dancing. There will be ample food and beverage options provided throughout the evening. Please note that no outside alcohol is permitted at the venue. We appreciate your adherence to ensure the celebrations can continue; any violation can result in immediate cancellation of the event.
Yes! However, we will be having an unplugged ceremony and encourage our guests to be fully present during this portion of our big day. The bride and groom kindly request that you keep your phone away during the ceremony. We promise our photographer will capture all the great moments. After the ceremony, feel free to snap and post all the photos you'd like! Our only request is that you tag photos with our wedding hashtag #WineKnotOglesby.
Feel free to reach out to Thayer Garrett (mother of the bride) with any additional questions. She can be reached by phone call or text at 206.579.1142 or by email at thayerg3@gmail.com.
