Yes and no: Fort Collins is currently under a mask mandate, so you will need one for Thursday and Friday night drinks, and otherwise walking into stores (i.e. on the Walking Tour). You do NOT need one at the wedding at Tapestry House, as we are a private event.
The ceremony is outdoor. With the ceremony at 5 and sunset at 6, it can get deceivingly cold fast! The reception is indoor…ish. It is a permanent tent of sorts. There are large openings for airflow. Rigorous dancers may not need a jacket, but it’s probably a safe bet to bring one!
Borrowing the term from cousin Ellie Morris' Steamboat wedding, the term means rustic, Coloradan, outdoorsy, but still semi-formal. This means bring on the western vests, or even cowboy boots and bolos* if you have them! This is a pretty much "anything but jeans" event. *If you don't know what a bolo is, don't go out and buy one. but if you are curious, check out Sam Schneiders rocking one at Ellie's wedding on the Wedding party page ;) it is jewelry worn instead of a tie.
Go hike Horsetooth!! It is just outside of Fort Collins. It is a moderate hike, and you will feel it if you are coming from sea level, but worth the views! If you have more time, check out Rocky Mountain National Park for a drive or hike (or cross-country ski - weather dependent).
We will have activities planned on Friday for those in town, as well as a spot to get drinks that evening (please RSVP!). We'll also have a reservation somewhere for those trickling in Thursday night. Otherwise, the main festivities are Saturday!
Though we love your kids and wish we could include them all, we can only accommodate our own 4 nieces and nephews. To be clear, only names explicitly stated on invitations are invited. (Otherwise, with family and friends' kids, we'd be looking at 40 more people - we did the math!). If you plan to travel with your whole adorable fam, your kids are most welcome at all events except the Saturday night wedding/reception, and we'd be more than happy to help find a sitter for that evening!
Colorado is known for (1) altitude and (2) sun - yes, even in October. Drink LOTS of water, especially when drinking alcohol at altitude, and wear sunscreen! We get 300 days of sunshine here :)
