After chatting for a while on an App* (*no free ads), we set a date to get drinks at Summer House Santa Monica, a cool Chicago restaurant that was conveniently right in between our apartments at the time. As soon as Haley walked through the door I was drawn to her infectious smile and laugh. After talking about anything and everything (Haley spoiled an important death in The Sopranos) until we were the last two people there, we agreed to walk over to a nearby bar to keep the date going and stop annoying the Summer House staff that didn't want to ask us to leave. On the walk, Haley politely asked if it was okay if she called her Dad real quick because a friend was having car trouble and she wanted to see how she could help. I knew then that she was someone that I wanted to have in my corner. As more dates and time together followed, it became clear to me early on that this was the woman I wanted to marry. She always keeps me laughing, is a blast to travel with and understands that a loaded itinerary is more enjoyable with a couple naps mixed in, and would do anything for her friends and family. Since moving in together with a strange complement of animal friends, our bond has only grown stronger and I can't wait to get married and celebrate in 2025!
