We've visited this art museum and highly recommend! The following exhibits should be in rotation during this June weekend. KIN: Rooted in Hope Featuring poetry and portraits, KIN reconstructs the Weatherfords’ ancestry across centuries: it moves from the American Revolution to the Maryland plantation where Frederick Douglass was enslaved, to Civil War battlefields, and the founding of all-Black Reconstruction-era villages. Richard Estes: Urban Landscapes Featuring twenty-five works by the preeminent Photorealist painter and printmaker Richard Estes, this exhibition showcases the artist’s ongoing fascination with the reflective surfaces of the modern city. Fields, Voids, and Translations: Works on Paper and Textiles by Piper Shepard A Baltimore-based artist creates architecturally-scaled works, weavings, and works on paper inspired by the familiar yet complex patterns involved in cutwork, lace, and botanical imagery.
Amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches! Note that visiting this spot requires driving from the Tidewater Inn.
