This is a stunning collection and comes highly recommended! -- "The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art opened in April 2018 and transports visitors through the rich and diverse heritage of the American West. Its more than 400 works of art evoke the spirit of a wide-open frontier and the beauty of life in the wild."
A local favorite & the guided tours are wonderful. -- "The Dalí Museum celebrates the life and work of Salvador Dalí and features works from the artist’s entire career. The collection includes over 2,400 works from every moment and in every medium of his artistic activity."
One of Bridget's favorite (smaller) museums in town. Stunning glasswork that is unlike anything you have seen. "Featuring preeminent works from the American Studio Glass Movement and an extraordinary selection of contemporary glass sculptures from around the world. Imagine Museum has over 500 significant pieces of glass works on display from their 1500-piece collection."
This gorgeous botanical garden is another local favorite. -- "As St. Petersburg's oldest living museum, this 100-year-old garden is home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the region. Unwind as you stroll through meandering paths, lush with exotic plants from around the world. Explore cascading waterfalls, beautiful demonstration gardens, more than 50,000 tropical plants, and flowers."
Wake up the morning of our wedding and head over to the Saturday Morning Market for a great local experience. There is always a great band playing upbeat music in the center of the Market as you stroll and taste your way from booth to booth. If you want to experience the real St. Pete, this is something you don't want to miss!
With stations all over town, you can pick up a bike and drop it off wherever you'd like. This is a great way to see local street art, murals, and even stop for a bite or brewery hop along the way! Download their App using the link below to make locating your bike and payment a breeze!
This is our favorite public beach access in the area. Pay to park at meter station and enjoy gorgeous gulf views with fewer tourists than other nearby beaches. They do allow alcohol, however no glass. After the beach, hit up Shake Shop right down the road for an ice cold sweet treat (11920 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706).
For our family that loves to camp, this is a great spot to check out if you're thinking about planning future trips to St. Pete. The beaches are spacious, there are hiking trails, and it's an overall great experience!
