FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail attire. We encourage you to dress colorfully for the beautiful summer weather! No white outfits, denim, or shorts please.

Question

Who may I bring with me?

Answer

All invited guests are named on your formal invitation and also in your online RSVP. We are blessed with many family and friends and so we are not able to acommodate anyone not explicitly named on your invitation.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive at Saint Paul's Church by 1:30pm. The wedding Mass begins at 2pm sharp and you will need a little time to find parking, walk a short distance to the church, find your seat, and collect your thoughts or pray before the Mass begins. You will be asked to remain in the lobby for a few minutes if you arrive as the bride is processing down the aisle.

Question

What are the parking options?

Answer

We will guide you towards campus garages and street parking for a number of parking options that will keep you near both the church for the ceremony and the venue for the reception!

Question

What shall I do between the Mass and the reception?

Answer

Welcome to the UW Madison campus! We are so delighted that you will have about an hour and a half to explore one of our favorite places. We will update the "Things to Do" page with specific suggestions but encourage you to explore the gorgeous campus or stroll down State Street to browse in the shops or explore Wisconsin's unique state capitol. If you want to stay on campus, check out the Wisconsin Historical Society across the quad from Saint Paul's, or Memorial Union with its beautiful lakeside terrace. At the Terrace, you can relax next to Lake Mendota and enjoy a pitcher of Wisconsin beer and cheese curds or walk the Lakeshore Path that stretches west of the Terrace.

Question

I have a dietary restriction--will I be accomodated?

Answer

Our reception will include both appetizers and multiple entree options. The food we have chosen includes a number of dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. If you are concerned about a particular restriction not listed, please let us know when you RSVP.
