Pisa is about a 30 minute drive from the airport to the venue. We recommend booking a taxi from the airport to the venue or you may also drive directly to the location if you're already renting a car in Italy. You can rent a car in Pisa and drive to the venue. We recommend using either Enterprise or Avis, both located in the Pisa airport. All U.S. drivers will need to obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) prior to renting a car in Italy. An IDP can be easily obtained through your local AAA branch for a flat $20 fee (https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html). People drive on the right side of the road in Italy, just like in the U.S. Most cars, however, are manual rather than automatic. If you do not know how to drive a manual stick shift, or don't feel confident enough driving one through the narrow and twisty Italian streets, you will need to rent an automatic. Rental car companies typically have fewer automatic options and they often come at a higher price point, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Before you leave your rental car check-in counter, ensure you ask what type of fuel your rental vehicle requires. In Italy, gas stations usually have two types of fuel: unleaded petrol (called senza piombo or benzina verde - 'green gas') and diesel (called 'gasolio'). When you arrive at a gas station, you’ll also need to decide if you want to fill up your gas on your own (self-service) or if you’d like an attendant to fill up for you (serviced). Serviced refueling will cost you an average of €0.20 more per liter, and while it may not sound like a lot, that small amount adds up very quickly. You can also have a chauffeur pick you up and drive you. Please find some chauffeured car agencies below: https://airportstaxitransfers.com/transportation/taxi/Pisa-Transfers
