Brockway Summit to Picnic Rock
If you are looking for a relatively easy hike with amazing views of the lake this is the one. Length: 3.6 Miles, 800 ft elevation Trailhead location: Brockway Summit Tahoe Rim Trail Trailhead Once parked at the trailhead cross the street to find signs to the “Tahoe Rim Trail”. Follow the switchbacks up approximately 1.2 miles until you see a sign labeled “Spur Trail” on the left. Follow it up an additional .3 miles to rock formations named “Picnic Rock.”
Shirley Canyon Trailhead
Bridget's parents go-to weekend hike at Olympic Valley (formerly Squaw). 5.7mi, 1,952 ft elevation
Five Lakes Trail
We've done this trail a bunch with good friends from SF! It's pretty steep so bring lots of water / snacks and be mindful of time if you choose to do this trail on Saturday. Length: 5mi, 1.118 ft elevation
Donner Lake Marina
Get on the Water with Kayaks, Stand-up Paddleboards, or a Ski boat! We recommend Donner Lake since it's closer to Truckee and our venue. The water is also warmer than Lake Tahoe. :)
