There are many ways to get to Florence, so it all depends on your preference and travel schedule. There are no direct flights from Kansas City (or St. Louis) to Florence. You would need to book a flight with at least one layover. Consider flying into a nearby major Italian city like Rome (FCO) or Milan (MXP) and then take a train to Florence. Trains from Rome or Milan to Florence are frequent and relatively fast (under 2 hours). Most major European hubs such as London (LHR), Paris (CDG), or Frankfurt (FRA) have direct flights to Florence's Peretola Airport (FLR). This might be a good option if you intend on partaking in some fun European travel prior to the wedding.
You must have a valid passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your departure.
Castello di Gabbiano is about a 35 minute car ride from Florence city center. Getting a taxi or Uber from Florence to the venue is fairly simple, but please note that taxi and ride share services might be limited when requesting from the venue.
There are a number third party websites that sell tickets to Florence’s many attractions, but we recommend going straight to the source and purchasing from Florence’s Ministry of Culture at https://www.b-ticket.com/b-Ticket/uffizi/default_eng.aspx.html. There, you can purchase tickets to over 10 museums, and can even buy timed entrance tickets in order to beat the queue.
