We are planning a casual and intimate backyard party at Bridget's family's home. COVID is still a high risk in NYC, so we are limiting the wedding celebration to mostly local family members. If you can join us, we would like everyone to stay as safe as possible, get fully vaccinated, and wear masks during the celebration. Please see the links above for wedding details, FAQs, and the page to RSVP.
In 1996, Bridget and Patrick began their freshman year at Stuyvesant High School, where they spent the next 4 years never crossing paths nor saying a single word to each other. (Stuyvesant is huge.) Twenty years later, in 2016, a mutual friend organized a hiking trip. Though he invited many friends, only Bridget and Patrick joined him. They immediately recognized each other from the hallways of Stuyvesant, and spent the drive upstate and a good portion of the hike reminiscing about high school, boring their friend, and getting thoroughly lost. They only managed to make it out of the woods through sheer luck, when, after the sun had begun setting and they were quickly losing daylight, they miraculously rediscovered the trail. They stayed in touch after that hike and became good friends. Bridget hired Patrick to do video for a storytelling event that she organized, and was so impressed with his artistic eye that she asked him to take photos for her OKCupid profile. It was during that photo shoot, taking smoldering photos of Bridget, that Patrick knew he was smitten. After holding it in as long as he could, Patrick finally confessed his crush to Bridget in 2018 (in actuality, he was in love but tried to play it cool). Many dates later, during brunch, Bridget cut into her eggs benedict and the yolk started oozing across her plate, dangerously close to touching a nearby orange slice. Without breaking the flow of conversation, Patrick casually yet swiftly reached over and moved the orange slice to safety. In that moment Bridget realized she was in love. But it was only a month into dating, too soon to use the "L" word! So she held it in as long as she could: five whole days. Since then, they've weathered appendicitis, apartment hunting, bedbugs during a pandemic (was this ever resolved?? Will you catch bed bugs at their wedding? Who knows?!) They are excited to crush whatever other challenges life throws at them together, and can't wait to celebrate with you in August!
