Great swimming hole. Cold clean water if you need waking up, for whatever reason.
Ski resort with great hiking and a fun golf course.
Legit gringo tacos, great draft list.
Small pub on the main street in Waterbury, one of the best draft lists in VT. Ask for the owner Dave, and tell him: "Matt's understanding was every wedding guest drinks for free."
The VG, a Canning and Davis classic. They would stop here every day after skiing for snacks on a "$2 limit." Matt and Ian's recommendation; four packs of $.25 Swiss Cake Rolls (1997 pricing subject to inflation) and Jay's classic a 22oz Long Trail with a to-go fountain cup.
A pinnacle of Vermont. Ride your bike up the 15% grade road (and then post about it on Insta) or drive and catch the Long Trail for a quick hike over Mad River Glenn. A beautiful stop and one of the reasons we love "The Valley."
A temple of VT beer. Sean and Karen Lawson started brewing out of their home's shed in 2009, built an empire, contract brewed out of Connecticut for years and then opened their dream brewery in 2018. It is a dream, check it out.
