Downtown Tulsa is where we spend most of our date nights and one of our favorite areas of the city. Filled with great restaurants, cocktail bars, rooftop spots, and live music, it’s the perfect area to explore throughout the weekend. Some of our favorite downtown spots include Bull in the Alley for an elevated steak dinner (make a reservation well in advance or try your luck at the bar), Valkyrie for martinis and negronis, Amelia’s for a cozy dinner downtown, In The Raw Vu for sushi and rooftop views, Noche for margaritas and Mexican food, Il Seme and Forno Santo for Italian, and Barons on 1st or Maestro for another great steakhouse option. Most spots are walkable from one another, making it easy to hop around for dinner and drinks.
Cherry Street is one of Tulsa’s most walkable and lively neighborhoods, just blocks away from our house and filled with restaurants, coffee shops, bars, local boutiques, and shopping. Some of our favorite spots in the area include LoFi for pizza, Ava June for French-inspired dining, Prossimo for Italian, and Nola’s for Creole cuisine. For coffee (and something sweet), we love both Summer Moon and CHOCS (Coffee House on Cherry Street). It’s also a great area to wander through local shops and spend a relaxed afternoon exploring Tulsa.
Brookside is a beautiful and very walkable area of Tulsa filled with local restaurants, cocktail bars, coffee shops, and shopping. If anyone’s in the mood to browse, Brookside has spots like Lululemon and Warby Parker mixed in with great local boutiques. We also love the restaurant scene in this area, especially Malfi and R Bar & Grill.
North Maple Ridge is another area we love near our house (it's on the same street!), with a mix of neighborhood restaurants, cocktail spots, and local staples. Some of our favorites include Tacos x Mezcal for margaritas, chips and guac, FarmBar for a more elevated dinner experience (definitely make reservations in advance), Tina’s for great burgers, Mercury Lounge for live music, and lastly Maple Ridge Grocer, and Bishop Quigley’s for drinks. It’s a great area to explore if you’re looking for a more local Tulsa feel outside of downtown.
