Nate and Brianna both moved up to Anchorage, Alaska in the second half of 2018. Nate posted on a Facebook ice climbing page looking for partners and Brianna responded after noticing several east coast friends in common. They first met in person when Brianna invited Nate to join her for an Avalanche 1 refresher course, where Nate found Brianna more approachable after she started eating directly from a block of cheese. Though things got off to a rocky (icy?) start when their first ice climb together technically kind of involved Nate guiding a separate Tinder date for Brianna, Nate fortunately did not bail on making further plans. After several more backcountry and frontcountry outings, it quickly became clear to everyone else that there was more to the relationship than just being adventure partners. Shortly this became clear to Brianna and Nate as well <3

Brianna has always loved palindromes and number repetition. Yes, it would have been a bit cooler to get married 11/11/22 don't remind her (she is still going to celebrate that date as their -1 anniversary). November 11 is also Veterans Day, so some of you may have the Federal holiday off the day beforehand. Hopefully that will help with the trek up to Alaska for those of you in the Lower 48.
