Our story began in our shared hometown of Scotts Valley, CA. While we first knew of each other in 6th grade, it wasn’t until high school that we became friends and until senior year, between student government and statistics class where we partnered up for every project, that our relationship deepened. In November of 2017, Philip admitted feelings of more than friendship and asked Brianna to be his girlfriend. Despite feeling similarly, Brianna… politely declined (starting a relationship senior year of high school felt simply impractical!). Philip took the response like a champ and our “friendship” proceeded as was: spending lots of time together, attending school dances together and, in retrospect, going on quite a few (albeit unofficial) dates. After both selecting Chapman University as our college of choice for the next four years, we knew we needed to have a serious conversation about what came next… On July 11th, 2018, we had *the* conversation and ultimately decided we didn’t want to tackle this next chapter without each other. Sensing Philip’s nervousness to ask (who could blame him after last time), Brianna asked Philip to be her boyfriend. And the rest is history. We’ve stuck together through 4 years of undergrad, 1 year of grad school and 2 Los Angeles apartments. By the date of our wedding, we will have been together for just over 7 years – and we can’t wait for forever!
