Boothbay Railway Village
This little village is a worthwhile way to spend a couple hours and is on the way in/out of town. It is a 15 acre re-created Maine village town of 1850 – 1950. There are more than two dozen historic and reconstructed buildings, many purchased and moved to the site, with a steam-engine train running right through it. Plus, over 60 antique autos are on display. The Maine State Aquarium
INFORMATION COST Adults (age 13 to 65) -- $7.00 Seniors (age 65 and up) -- $5.00 Youth (age 3-12) -- $3.00 Children (age 2 and under) -- FREE Hours and Schedule for 2018 Open hours are 10 AM – 5 PM, Wed-Sun in September. Closing for the season on September 30, 2018. LOBSTER PRESENTATIONS - attend a presentation on the fundamentals of the lobster industry. Times: usually 11am, 1pm, and 3pm but check the board or call ahead. Creature Feature – a 15 minute presentation about fascinating hermit crabs, ancient horseshoe crabs, squirting sea scallops, gross sea cucumbers, and more. Shark Encounter - Staff will dispel some of the prevalent myths surrounding the most misunderstood species of the ocean. These not-so-scary predators excite all who dare to reach out and touch. Feeding – Do you want to get chummy with the animals? Then, help feed them at 2 PM every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
