How do I get to Elba Island?

Answer

You are required to take 3 methods of transportation: Plane(✈️),Car or Private Driver(🚗),(⛴️) OR Plane(✈️),Train,(🚉),Ferry (⛴️) Please check the travel page for more details and feel free to reach out to Bri & Tomas with any questions.

When should I arrive and depart?

Answer

We suggest arriving in Rome or your preferred airport by Thursday 9/11 to ensure you can travel to Elba on Friday morning and join the welcome party. Arriving from overseas on Friday could result in very tight timing. If you plan to stay for the Sunday festivities, we recommend departing Elba on Monday, 9/15. You can either take a late ferry on Sunday, 9/14, spend the night in Rome, and fly out the next day, or leave early on Monday, 9/15, and schedule a late evening flight. Be sure to account for potential travel delays to ensure a smooth journey! The last ferry of the day leaves at 9PM local time.

Will there be transportation from the airport to the venue?

While there isn’t a direct shuttle, we can assist with arranging transportation. Please contact us for recommendations.

Where is the wedding taking place?

The welcome party, ceremony, reception, and brunch will take place at the Hotel Hermitage, an exquisite 5-star property.

What are the local transportation options?

Answer

Renting a car or motorino (vespa) is recommended for easy exploration outside of the property. If you're staying at the hotel, the concierge can assist you with booking your ferry and other transportation.To arrange your ferry through the concierge, simply email concierge@hotelhermitage.it

What is the local currency, and should I exchange money beforehand?

Answer

The local currency is EURO. It’s a good idea to exchange some money before you travel, but ATMs and currency exchange services are available at the destination.

Will my phone work in Italy?

We recommend consulting your phone provider and enrolling in the $10-12/per day international Travel pass. This way when you arrive, you’re able to easily make calls, use maps, and of course refresh your socials! Of course there is WiFi on the island, but someone in your group should have a working phone for travel purposes.

What should I pack?

Answer

Comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, casual outfits for daytime, and a light jacket for cooler evenings. Elba Island has sand and rock beaches, we recommend bringing Tevas or swim shoes for rock beaches. Don’t forget sun protection!

What should I wear?

Welcome White Party: Please wear light, all-white attire—flowy dresses or jumpsuits for women, and linen shirts with trousers or shorts for men. Comfortable sandals or loafers are perfect for the sand. Embrace the relaxed elegance of Italy by the sea! Wedding Ceremony: Formal, elegant attire is encouraged. For women, consider chic formal midi dresses or gowns. For men, a tailored suit or tuxedo is appropriate. The ceremony and reception will be on the beach, be mindful of the terrain opt for comfortable footwear (or barefoot :)) Post-Wedding Beach Brunch: Feel free to wear your bathing suit and beachwear for a relaxed, beachside brunch.

What’s the weather like at the time of the wedding?

In September, Elba Island typically enjoys pleasant, late-summer weather. Here’s a general idea of what to expect: - Temperature: Daytime temperatures usually range from 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F). - --- Evenings are cooler, with temperatures dropping to around 16°C to 20°C (61°F to 68°F). - Sunshine: Expect plenty of sunshine, with an average of 8 to 10 hours of sunshine per day. - Rainfall: September sees a moderate chance of rain, but showers are usually brief and infrequent. - Sea Temperature: The sea remains warm and inviting, with temperatures around 23°C to 25°C (73°F to 77°F), perfect for swimming.
