How We Met

Bradford's Version

It was a Saturday night outside the BSC (Black Student Coalition) house at Davidson College, and my friends were ready to leave to go to another party. As we were leaving, I noticed a girl walking with them that I only spoke with once before. I remembered her name was Bri, and learned that her parents were also Jamaican. All of us were up late talking and laughing over nonsense and decided to go to Waffle House. But what happened next I couldn't predict. When it was time to pay the bill, Bri wrote "N/A" on the tip line of her receipt because our server was being so rude. I had never seen anyone do that before, and I thought it was hilarious. But more importantly, I learned that Bri was never too afraid to speak her mind. From that point on, I had convinced myself that she and I were going to be best friends. Once the Spring semester started, we began spending more time together studying, talking, and sharing meals. Our friendship continued to grow and naturally developed into a deeper attraction that brought us to where we are today. And the rest, as they say, is history.

How We Met

Bri's Version

We met at Davidson College. There was a BSC party that ended early, so my friend and I didn't want to end the night, so we decided to go to another party. I saw Bradford with a group of people we knew, so we all left together because the party was lame lol. I don't remember meeting Bradford before this, but I know he is going to say we met before. We all were hanging out, laughing, and sharing stories in the dorm, then we all got hungry. We decided to go to Waffle House for a little midnight snack. The waitress was terrible and so rude, so when the check came, I wrote "N/A" for the tip. Bradford couldn't believe it and busted out laughing, while I was still arguing with the waitress. From then, Bradford said we would become best friends, but I wasn't convinced. We started hanging out a lot more, having a million unproductive study dates, until he officially asked me out (or really he told my mom that we were already a couple over the phone). The rest is history and we have forever to keep having fun and making more memories with my best friend.
