Sammy and Brian met in high school in their hometown of Katy, Texas, in the same chemistry class, sitting on opposite sides of the room. They began talking more while spending time with the same friends and seeing each other at parties, and that summer, when they were 16, they officially started dating. From the very beginning, their relationship was rooted in friendship, and before long they were going through high school, prom, and graduation side by side. When it came time to decide what was next after high school, continuing forward together was never really a question. They both chose to attend Texas State University, where they quickly fell in love with the small college town and the life they shared there. Fall weekends were spent tailgating college football, spring days floating the river or hanging out around the pools, and the rest of their time filled with friends, laughter, and memories. Somewhere in the middle of it all, they adopted their dog, Max, who’s been along for the ride ever since and has definitely kept them on their toes. These were the kind of years that went by quickly, but stayed with them forever. They also discovered how much they loved traveling together and were always looking forward to the next trip, especially their Vegas trips. One especially meaningful trip came this past August, when Brian and Sammy traveled to Playa del Carmen for a family vacation at his parents’ condo. One morning, Brian surprised Sammy by taking her to a private cenote he had rented, where a photographer was waiting to capture the moment. Surrounded by the clear blue water, Brian proposed using Sammy’s late mother’s ring, making the moment incredibly special and one Sammy never saw coming. The surprises didn’t end there. When they returned to the condo, Brian’s family suggested heading up to the rooftop pool to celebrate. After quickly getting ready, Sammy walked upstairs to find not only Brian’s family, but also her family, who had secretly been in Mexico for several days to surprise her. They spent the rest of the day together eating, drinking, and celebrating, making it a day neither of them will ever forget. Over the past seven years, Sammy and Brian have grown up side by side. They have shared laughter, challenges, milestones, and countless everyday moments that, together, have shaped the life they’re building. Finding each other so young and continuing to choose each other every day is something they will always be proud of. They are excited to begin the next chapter of their lives, grateful for where they’ve been and even more excited for where they’re going.
