Q & A

Question

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN NOSARA IN FEBRUARY?

Answer

Nosara is a tropical dry forest next to the beach. The weather in Nosara in February is hot and breezy, with average highs of 90°F and lows of 75°F.

Question

WHAT SHOULD I PACK?

Answer

In Nosara, the dress style is generally casual and laid-back, reflecting the town's relaxed beach vibe and warm climate. Light, breathable fabrics such as cotton and linen are popular choices, ideal for staying cool in tropical weather. You'll often see people in shorts, sundresses, tank tops, and sandals during the day. In the evening, attire tends to be slightly more polished but still casual, with options like summer dresses for women and button-up shirts or polo shirts with trousers or shorts for men. Comfortable footwear, such as flip-flops or casual sandals, is suitable for most occasions. It's also a good idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun during outdoor activities. Overall, the key is to dress comfortably and practically while still embracing the laid-back coastal lifestyle. Keep in mind the roads are not paved, so be mindful of your footwear.

Question

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR WELCOME DRINKS?

Answer

Think resort casual with a touch of polish. We recommend light, breathable outfits! Women: Think sundresses, breezy maxis, or stylish separates in soft, flowy fabrics—Flat sandals or wedges are perfect. Men: A short-sleeve or lightweight button-down shirt paired with linen or chino pants or shorts is ideal. No jackets or ties needed—just effortless, tropical style.

Question

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR THE WEDDING?

Answer

The dress code is tropical formal and we want everyone to feel stylish and comfortable, so we suggest light, airy fabrics that fit the tropical setting. Women: We recommend long, flowy dresses or elegant midi styles in airy materials—vibrant colors are encouraged! Heels are welcome, but wedges or dressy sandals are a smart and comfortable choice for walking on grass and sand. Men: We recommend lightweight suits, in linen or cotton are ideal, along with tailored trousers and button-down shirts. No ties are necessary! Loafers or other dress shoes are preferred—please no flip-flops or casual sandals.

Question

IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO BE AWARE OF WHEN TRAVELING TO COSTA RICA?

Answer

Nosara is one of the most magical places in the world! But there are a few things we like to note to those who haven't been there before. 1. Please keep in mind you are in the middle of the jungle. There is wildlife in the area (monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles, bugs, etc). We recommend bringing mosquito and bug repellent with you (there are plenty of markets in town if you forget!). 2. Nosara is continuously being built up and modernized but is still fairly underdeveloped. Most roads in town are not paved, you may experience 1-2 power outages (most don't last more than a minute), etc. We suggest to lean into it and enjoy the "off-the-grid" way of life! 3. Most restaurants and stores in Nosara accept all major credit cards and USD, so no need to convert your dollars into Colón (Costa Rican currency). 4. If you do not have a car, ATVs and golf carts are available to rent in town. There are also plenty of Tuk Tuk's if you're traveling a longer distance. 5. Many restaurants and businesses use WhatsApp to communicate, rather than texting or calling. We highly recommend downloading the app before traveling to communicate with drivers, make reservations, etc.
