When booking a flight to South Korea, choose Incheon International Airport (ICN).

Venue : Cafe Sunwoongak

Cafe Sunwoongak is roughly a 20-30min refreshing uphill walk from the Bukhansan Ui Station (북한산 우이역), Line - Ui Sinseol 우이신설선. Taxi is the best way to get to the venue from Seoul. It should take around an hour and cost around 25,000 won (~$20) from Myeongdong area. We will also be providing shuttle buses to and from the Bukhansan Ui station and the venue as it may be harder to grab a taxi at the end of the night.

Hotel

Arirang Hill Hotel Dongdaemun

We will be staying at Arirang Hill Hotel Dongdaemun. Since Korea doesn't really do group hotel blocks, you are more than welcome to stay at other nicer or budget hotels, or at an Airbnb with a group of friends. To get to this hotel from the airport take AREX (express subway train to Seoul Station, then transfer to Line 4 to Sungshin Women’s University Station) or airport bus 6011 (buy a ticket at the machines, board at the shuttle area, and get off at Sungshin Women’s University Station). If you choose a different hotel and need help finding out the airport bus number or directions, feel free to ask us!

Train

Public Transportation

Subway: You will need to purchase a subway ticket at the kiosks in the station, or buy a T-money card. The T-money card can be bought at any convenience store and can only be loaded with cash(Korean Won). So I recommend to either bring USD and have it exchanged at a money exchange at the airport or bank, or to withdraw from an ATM in Won at the airport as not all ATM's will read foreign cards outside. This card can be used anywhere across Korea, like a visa, and you can load it up via app or at the kiosk with cash or card. Taxi: Uber when you get to Korea will auto update to UT or Uber Taxi, you can use this to call taxis and get around Seoul! Taxi's (and Uber Taxis) are relatively cheap! Kakao Taxi is also recommended as most drivers will pick up Kakao Taxi faster than Uber Taxi. Taxis: You can also hail taxis the classic way of flagging down an empty car, you can pay with any credit card or cash. Klook: A helpful app with discount on passes around Korea and other countries.
