Cafe Sunwoongak is considered in Seoul, but is on the northern outskirts located near Bukhansan National Park (북한산 국립 공원) in Ui-dong (우이동), Gangbuk-gu. It is possible to get here by subway, it is roughly a 20-30min walking from the Bukhansan Ui Station (북한산 우이역), Line - Ui Sinseol 우이신설선. Or, you could call a taxi from the station to the cafe. For ultimate comfort and convenience, we recommend getting a taxi, perhaps coordinating with some other guests. From Myeongdong area, a taxi to the venue should cost around 25,000 won (~$20) and will take around 1 hour.
We recommend either booking a hotel or Airbnb in Seoul. Area wise, we highly recommend the Gangnam area or the Myeong-dong area if you would like to spend some time exploring the city, or Hongdae for the young vibes. Both areas contain a solid mix of shopping, eating, sightseeing, and can easily travel anywhere in Seoul via public transportation and/or taxis. However, there are plenty of incredible areas to stay in. Feel free to reach out to us for other recommendations.
South Korea is an extremely credit card friendly country and almost all stores will accept foreign credit cards. However, you may still need the occasional cash for street vendors and traditional markets, as well as topping up your transportation card. For those who use Apple Pay, Apple Pay has been recently introduced into South Korea so it may or may not work. Make sure you bring a card with no foreign transaction fees and always choose the option to pay in local currency (KRW) when asked!
Google Maps cannot legally operate within Korea. An alternative you can use is Naver Map. Download the app within your respective app store. It's similar in use and will appear in the language your phone is set to.
It is recommended to purchase an E-SIM or a Pocket wifi to avoid high roaming fees. You can choose any provider you like. The one we will be using is Airalo. You can use our code to receive 3$ off for your purchase. BRIAN0499
We kindly request our guests to dress in semi-formal attire such as a cocktail-length dress or a suit and tie. Please note that the ceremony and dinner will take place outdoors so plan accordingly for cooler temps at night. There is no suggested color palette for our guests; however, the wedding party will be in shades of dusty blue and light grey!
