We first met almost 9yrs ago working as pilots for Skydive Toledo. We often joke about how long it took us to “figure it out”. In the movies, you meet your soul mate and know right away that this is the person you were meant to share your life with. The person that no matter how long you’ve been together, you still can’t wait to come home to them. The person that fits the cliche “when you know, you know”. But that’s not real life. In real life, the timing is almost never perfect. Fast forward 4yrs from when we first met. Lindsey has moved back to Washington after several years living and working in Las Vegas and Brian is now commuting back and forth to Chicago for work. Both of us “living the dream” as airline pilots. We reconnected via text when Lindsey learned they’d both be based in Chicago for a few months. Both of us able to commiserate about commuting to reserve on the low wages of first year regional pilot pay. This is when our relationship transformed from acquaintances to friends. Took another year or so for another transformation from friends to more, then we started adding labels like “boyfriend” and “girlfriend”. Now, a mere 5yrs later we are once again redefining our relationship as “husband” and “wife”. In the time we’ve known each other, our families and friends have combined to play such pivotal parts in our lives. We cannot wait to have each one of you celebrate the day with us.
