Route Driving From North to Virginia

With this being Memorial Day weekend, there will be a lot of people on the road. I strongly recommend taking the "longer way" according to your GPS going down the Eastern Shore, aka the DelMarVa Peninsula, instead of trying to navigate traffic past several major cities including New York City, Philadelphia, Wilmington, DC, Richmond, and finally Williamsburg. The Eastern Shore has minimal rest stops but has fast food, gas stations, and other places to stop along the way. Please note this way does have stop lights and speed traps to ticket out of state speeders. This way will take you over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel which is a 20 mile long bridge over the water that includes two tunnels that go under the ocean to allow ships to pass over. For some people, this thought is terrifying but I think it's beautiful and I have been doing it for years. You can pay the toll with an EZ Pass. Driving to Windsor Castle Park

Use the address 301 Jericho Road Smithfield, VA 23430. Fun fact, Windsor Castle Park is NOT in Windsor. If you search for the park on Google Maps, it will bring you to the other end of the park and you can drive through. 301 Jericho Road is the more direct address that will bring your right to parking at The Manor House.

There is not much in the way of public transportation in Virginia. The Norfolk airport has a great list of local ground transportation. Lyft and Uber are also options.
