FAQs

Question

Why did you push the wedding date back so far?

Answer

We needed to make a call and weren't sure when California would let people gather again. Pushing it back to the fall would be less risky, but it puts us in fire season, which is no good for a camping event! We also just weren't feeling the enthusiasm for planning a wedding in 2021 as we were in 2020, so we made the call to just do it next year. We are sincerely sorry to keep folks waiting, but we will work to make it will be worth it!

Question

Why didn't you just get married at town hall or on Zoom?

Answer

Because vendor deposits are a thing, they are expensive, and they do not provide refunds! Luckily all our vendors have graciously allowed us to change the date, twice!

Question

Do I have to stay all weekend?

Answer

No! If you would prefer to visit for just the day, we would absolutely love to see you. If you're traveling from out of state, visit our Things to Do section to see a list of other attractions in the area that you might not want to miss on your trip.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Yes! There's a playground for children and plenty of outdoor fun to be had. Keep in mind there is no WiFi or other Internet access at camp when planning for entertainment, and that this camp is located in a semi-wilderness area. Please indicate how many people you will be bringing (including yourself) when you RSVP.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

Unfortunately pets are not allowed at Camp Nauvoo. Please leave your pupper with a sitter. Contact us if you absolutely can't find someone to watch your dog.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by the end of March by clicking the RSVP button at the top of the page.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

If you would like to help us set-up, feel free to arrive Friday night. Otherwise, show up any time on Saturday. Dinner will be at 6pm.

Question

When should I leave?

Answer

We must be cleared out of Camp Nauvoo no later than noon on Sunday.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

No. Brian and I will be showing off our wedding clothes but otherwise this is a casual event.

Question

What should I bring for camping?

Answer

If you are not travelling from out of town and have camping gear, please bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and anything else you'll need to spend the night outdoors. We can provide rental tents and other supplies if needed for those coming in from out of state, or if you are local but don't have camping gear. Please let us know if you need to rent a tent.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Yes, but please indicate how many people you will be bringing (including yourself) when you RSVP.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes, there is parking for up to 50 cars. Please no more than 1 vehicle per family or group, and we strongly encourage carpooling whenever possible. Due to the small parking area, the fact that the road to the camp is a narrow one-lane private drive, and the need to allow vendors unhindered access to the venue, in and out traffic is strongly discouraged. For those not spending the night and wanting to leave after the reception dinner, we will need to ensure your vehicles are not blocked in so that you may leave in the evening - please be sure to indicate whether or not you'll be staying the night when you RSVP.

Question

Can I bring an RV?

Answer

No. There is only one RV spot on site and it is reserved for family.

Question

Is there transportation between the hotels and the campgrounds?

Answer

Yes, we will provide a shuttle to and from the Best Western in town, the recommended hotel for anyone not wanting to camp out.
