Morning Hike at Dinosaur Hill

About Dinosaur Hill: A mildly strenuous hike to the overlook provides panoramic views of the Grand Valley and the Colorado River. There are picnic sites and a large parking area for RVs. There are several interpretive signs along the trail about dinosaur fossils that have been discovered here. A giant plant-eating dinosaur, known as the Brontosaurus, was recovered here in 1901. This was one of the most complete specimens found to date. You can learn how this dinosaur was recovered and view the quarry site and bone reproductions during your visit.

Silly little play park that includes all of the classic tourist entertainment: Mini Golf, Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, Lazer Tag, a Lazer Maze, water park, and a giant inflatable obstacle course. I checked prices and it's pretty affordable, you can choose whichever specific activities for $10 or less, or get passes for all the things for $30-$40.

Day at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park!

Let's go hard to celebrate this marriage thing by going to a theme park on top of a mountain. The town of Glenwood Springs is about a 1.5 hour drive from Grand Junction. If you're uninterested in thrill rides, the town itself is host to hot springs, caves, and cool nature. As of 06/01/23, Summer FUNDAY tickets (includes all activities within the park) are $69. To ride the Gondola and to explore the caves ONLY, it's $46. Just to ride the gondola, it's $26.

This one has to be booked ahead of time, so if you're interested....don't forget to reserve. There is an upgraded adult's-only package we plan on purchasing which includes "Around the World" pools, freshwater pools with waterfalls, and a cool water plunge. The general access area has 16 geothermal springs, a world experience pool, a regular pool, and an elevated jetted spa. Comes with complimentary towels, a locker, access to changing rooms, and two cafes that serve food and beverages, alcoholic and otherwise. Pricing varies between $36-$58. FUN FACT! If you plan on attending the both the Iron Mountain Hot Springs AND the Adventure Park, you can get a discounted ticket that covers both locales through the Iron Mountain website when booking online! I recommend going this route to save a bit of money.

This will be a day dedicated to hiking in national parks in Utah. Our first stop, Arches National Park, is about an hour and 40 minutes away from Grand Junction. We'll begin at Arches National Park, hit up Dead Horse Point State Park, then end at Canyonlands National Park.

Spend Day at Ouray

About Ouray: Ouray is a high alpine community sitting at 7,800 feet in elevation. Set in a geographic bowl formed by rugged and steep mountainsides that lead up to jagged 12,000 to 13,000-foot-high peaks with several creeks cascading down through valleys and canyons into the city. Guests to our community come from all over the world to experience Ouray in its entirety. Whether that be soaking in the Ouray Hot Springs, hiking our trails, learning about the history of the Ute Indians and a miner's life, shopping on our unique Main Street, or seeing our 3 W's: wildlife, wildflowers, and waterfalls. OUR tour of Ouray will begin at Box Canon Falls - $7 entry fee, but includes cool hikes, a massive waterfall, a nature center, and a canyon. I also want to check out the town itself for food and what not...but guys, ghost towns. There's ghost towns. I'm going.
