Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) Is Your Best Bet! For all of our out-of-town guests, the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) will be the closest and most convenient airport to fly into. It’s an easy choice with plenty of rental car and rideshare options. Once you land, you’re almost here! Shelby, North Carolina is about 45–50 minutes west of CLT, just hop on I-85 and you’ll be in Shelby before you know it.
