Unfortunately, no. We need a retreat to ourselves during all of the festivities. However, since this is a family affair, we recommend doubling up on lodging, such as a rental house. We are happy to help find the best accommodations for you.
The more the merrier, except for our wedding ceremony and dinner. Because we want it to be a small celebration, just immediate family (including spouses and offspring) is invited to that. However, feel free to invite whomever you want (within reason*) to the other scheduled activities. * please no large groups, or folks who can't handle their liquor.
Typically, September is the Pacific Northwest's most beautiful month, with comfortable warm weather and clear skies. However, rain is not uncommon, and it's not shocking for evenings to be quite cool. Please bring layers and shoes that are appropriate for dry and wet weather.
We strongly suggest carpooling to the wedding, as it is about an hour outside of Vancouver and has limited parking. For everything else, carpooling/rideshares, Lyft or a rental car are your best bets.
We do not need any material things at this time, nor do we expect to receive gifts. Our biggest goal is to buy a house; any help with that would be greatly appreciated!
For the wedding, because we are investing in a wonderful photographer for family pictures, we would greatly appreciate everyone dressing up a little - semi-formal is fine. No jeans, please. For everything else, wear whatever makes you feel comfortable!
See our "Schedule" page for a list of planned activities which should give you a starting point for a packing list. Beyond clothes, shoes, and toiletries, please don't feel obligated to bring anything. We can provide towels, blankets, chairs and floaties for the lake day. There are plenty of good grocery stores in the area if you want to bring food to the potluck or snacks to the lake.
