How We Met

Costco Love Story

For those that don’t know this story it’s not so exciting…. But here it goes it all started in 2018 when Jonathan decided to work at Costco in Pacoima, CA. I was a cashier and he was titled a cashier assistant, so once in a blue moon he would assist me. He of course thought every time he assisted me that I didn’t like him. But those who don’t know me I’m socially awkward and have an emotionless expression on my face most of the time. To break the ice and what I do best was made fun of his Broncos 🏈 lanyard hanging from his pocket like he was some cool guy. Talking crap about his team even though I didn’t know much football but was of course a Patriots fan 🇺🇸. So of course once he found that out it got him talking to me. After a few times of assisting for me and talking every now and then at work I decided to ask him to hang out by going to clubs or to my favorite place Dave and Busters 👾 Let’s just say it took several attempts for him to finally say yes to hanging out with me 🙄 He thought he was too cool to hang out with me but from that day on here we are! About to get married 🤯

The Proposal

January 13, 2024

It all started while going on a family trip to Singapore to go see my cousins wedding 💒! We decided that before we head home we would make a pit stop in Japan. For several days Jonathan was deciding on what would be the perfect spot to pop the question 🤔… Since we only had a few days in Japan it made it hard finding the perfect spot while also not making it so obvious that he was going to pop the question. He finally decided on Mt. Fuji 🗻 but near a Lake. Me of course not knowing decided to book a tour that checked all of these boxes and more! Of course the night before Jonathan was up all night. I thought it was mainly because of his cough that he was having due to going from extreme cold to extremely humid to then cold again. But it was also a mixture of anxiety! Not to toot my own horn but I’m usually good at catching things, but he got lucky with having a cold. Anyway! We of course were being taken around on a bus to visit all these different spots to view Mt. Fuji. Along the way he would sleep… again lucky him because he would’ve been anxious the whole time if he was awake. Finally we got to a spot with a lake and Mt. Fuji in the back, but at this point it was lunch time and we were hungry. Went to this Ramen restaurant that had the most amazing handmade thick noodles 🍜! The pots they came out in were enough to feed us both and maybe more. They were huge! Finally got done eating and we decided to go take pictures near the lake on a little bridge. We were all alone, with the exception of my sister and her boyfriend. Me of course in awe 🥰 of the views was taking so many photos, because we only had so much time before we had to meet up at the bus again, Jonathan calls my name and I turn around. Being so tall I was confused and looked at the ground and all I saw was his face… my mind went blank and eyes focused only on his face and nothing else. Just assuming and without letting him say a single word, I asked “Are you serious??” 🤦‍♀️ and of course he responded “Yes”…. So he got back up and about to put the ring 💍 on my finger. We turn to my sister who’s taking a video 🎥 at this point and who asked “Did you even ask her?” At this point he’s like ohh shoot and got back down on one knee to ask the question. Let’s just say still to this day I have not heard the video and he has not seen or heard it because we know how terribly awkward 😳 we both….
