Erik and Briana’s beautiful love story began on November 8th, 2024, with a match on Hinge. From the beginning of their conversation, something felt different. Instead of opening with a cheesy pickup line or a comment about Briana’s appearance, Erik sparked a conversation all about Briana’s love of reading and asked what her perfect reading environment would be. It was a small, but thoughtful question that showed genuine interest and started a conversation filled with curiosity and a desire to get to know one another. Three days later on November 11th, they had their very first FaceTime date. One call turned into excitement neither could ignore. They felt at ease with one another, and Erik felt every guard he’d ever put up around his heart come down the longer they talked. They quickly scheduled their first date to be just a few days later, unable to wait until the weekend as originally planned. So, on Thursday, November 14th after a long day of work, they drove halfway between their cities to Hawkers in Delray with great anticipation. When Erik walked out of the parking garage to see Briana standing there, he knew in every cell of his being that he had found the woman he was going to marry. They hugged and it instantly felt like home. During dinner, it seemed as if the rest of the world faded away. Briana was mesmerized by Erik’s blue eyes and reached out to hold his hands. Erik knew then and there that there was no one else in the world for him. Conversation flowed so naturally it was as if they were the only two in the world. As a realist, Briana had never believed it would be that way for her when her mom would say “when you know, you’ll know”. But looking back at that night and amazing first date, Briana knows her mom was right. After dinner, they sat together by a small fountain, talking and savoring the moment. It was as if time stood still, neither wanted to leave that spot or that feeling. From that night forward, life brought its twists and turns, but it also built a foundation of love, trust, and deep connection through the ups and downs. Erik believes he was born to love Briana.
