FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The attire is semi-formal and the theme is "enchanted forest," but above all else we want you to be comfortable! It is Florida in November, we expect it to be very comfortable during the day (mid 70s) but it may get chilly at night. Prepare for both! There is also soft sand throughout the venue, so if you plan on wearing heels, proceed with caution.

Question

There's camping???

Answer

Yes! Doe Lake is a group campground, so we have the entire campground privately reserved. There are no hookups (so no power or water to the sites) but there is a very nice bathhouse and facilities inside the event hall on the property. Feel free to bring tents or RVs!

Question

I’m camping! What time should I arrive?

Answer

If you’re camping, we recommend arriving at Doe Lake around 3-4 PM on Saturday so you can get your site all set up. The ceremony will be at 5! Check-out is at 11am on Sunday.

Question

If I don't want to camp, where should I stay?

Answer

See the "Travel" page on this website for hotel recommendations in the area! Nearby Mount Dora is aDORAble (hehe) and has options, as well as The Villages. Both are approximately 35-40 minutes from the venue.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception in the same place?

Answer

Yes, both will be held at Doe Lake Recreation Area.
