We're Jumping the Broom!

After crossing paths, Bria and Miles were formally introduced to each other in Hampton University's cafe during New Student Orientation week. Hours later, they realized they had the same Oral Communication class. Bria sat slightly behind Miles and noticed when he kept looking back trying to say hello. As class ended, Miles, Bria, and another friend walked to their dorms together. Right outside Armstrong Hall, they spotted a stray student ID. Bria and Miles decided to help find the owner and turn it in to the HU Police Department. Miles and Bria instantly bonded. They began to hang out, play frisbee, and enjoy campus together. One snowy evening Bria confided in their mutual friend AJ about how she could see their friendship moving further, but swore AJ to secrecy. About an hour later, Miles called Bria for their usual cafe meet-up. When Miles picked Bria up from Moton Hall, she realized something was different. They were alone! When they got to the cafe, they saw all their friends and ended up having the usual group dinner. The next day, Miles called again around dinner time. This time, he suggested an earlier time to avoid friend-traffic. On the way back from the cafe, Bria decided not to beat around the bush. She asked Miles, "Do you like me? Because I like you and I think you like me." They stood under the huge central tree on Hampton's waterfront and discussed the possibly of them. They ultimately decided to stay friends and take time and pray about their relationship. On the night of Freshman Ball, Bria begrudgingly allowed Miles to accompany her. After the night was over, Miles walked Bria back to her dorm and explained that his family would be in town the next day. He asked if he could introduce her as his girlfriend. and that was just the beginning...

Miles proposed to Bria while spending their first Christmas together in Connecticut in front of her parents, brother, and dog, Bailey.
