Shaun and Bre met the new school way: On a dating app called Hinge. Shaun made the first move by liking one of Bre’s pictures and they spent a couple weeks texting to get to know each other. The feelings were mutual and they decided to meet in person. The plan was to meet at a restaurant that includes food and games, but it turns out the restaurant was closed that day and they made new plans spontaneously. They found an Asian-fusion restaurant and spent the next 4 hours eating, chatting and enjoying each others company. They discovered that they had many things in common: the love of travel, live music, trying new foods, game nights, spending time with friends & family, and a shared Christian faith. They spent several months building a relationship and making memories. One of their funniest date stories was the time that they “crashed” a wedding at Chateau Elan. A few of their favorite travel memories together would be the time they flew to Denver to see their favorite comedian, Indoor Skydiving in Houston, and bicycle zip-lining in Puerto Rico In November 2021, they flew to Aruba for Bre’s birthday celebration, which was their first time out of the country together. During that trip, they had dinner reservations at one the top seafood restaurants in the world. Shaun hired a photographer to act like he worked for the restaurant and ask if the couple would be willing to taking a few photos for the website. He came to their table just before sunset to take pictures for the restaurant “website”. While Bre was smiling and posing for the camera, Shaun was getting down on one knee with the engagement ring in his hand and SHE SAID YES!
