Getting there from NYC

There are a few ways to get to Mt. Tremper in the Catskills! You can rent/drive a car and enjoy the 2.5 hour drive and beautiful scenery on your own. Or, if you are feeling more adventurous, the Amtrak or Metro-North train are good options to Poughkeepsie and you'll need to order a friendly Lyft or Uber driver once you arrive to the station to finish out the next 45-minutes of your journey. The other option from the train is to reserve a rental car from a service near the train station. If you're driving from NYC (we recommend it so you can explore!), it will take you less than two hours by car to get to Foxfire Mountain House, specifically. Here's how to do it: Hop on the I-87 to the 28 West highway, which merges with the Onteora Trail; turn off onto Mt Pleasant Road then onto Andrew Lane to reach the hotel. NOTE: Foxfire has VERY limited parking onsite, so you’ll need to park elsewhere. But do not worry! We’ll be arranging shuttles and that information will be available soon.

Flight

LaGuardia Airport

NYC has several great airports, including JFK and Newark, but Laguardia is the easiest for domestic flights - plus, it's just a short cab ride into the city if you're planning to stay a few extra days. If not, Stewart International Airport and the Albany Airports are the closest to Mt. Tremper if you're more interested in going directly to the area for the weekend.

Albany International Airport

For those who are looking to spend less time on the road from NYC, the Albany International Airport is a great alternative for flying in. If you’re renting a car, the drive from ALB to the town of Mt. Tremper is approximately 1.5 hours, so it will definitely save you some time!

Train

Amtrak to Rhinecliff

Rhinecliff station is a 40-minute drive away from Foxfire, with Amtrak services connecting to New York City

Travel Note

By Bus

The Trailways Bus can take you from NYC Port Authority to Phoenicia and back again. However, once you arrive in Phoenicia, a car service (i.e. Uber or Lyft) will be needed to transport you to the hotel, venue, etc.
