FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kaitlyn Myers and Brett Davie
Question

Are Children allowed at the wedding?

Answer

While we adore children, we've opted for an ADULTS-ONLY, twenty one and over affair to allow everyone to relax and enjoy the celebration. We hope you understand our decision and can arrange childcare for the evening.

Question

Can I bring a guest or plus-one?

Answer

We’ve chosen to keep our guest list limited to the people we know personally. Because of this, only the names included on your invitation will be admitted to the wedding. We appreciate your understanding as we celebrate with our closest circle.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

This answer depends where you stay. If you are close to Short Pump (20 min outside of Downtown Richmond) then you will be closer to events for the weekend. However, for the Wedding Day if you choose NOT to drive PLEASE ensure you order your Ride Share ahead of time to pick you up at 11pm.

Question

Will there be parking? Is the venue accessible?

Answer

Absolutely! There’s lots of parking at Dover Hall. The venue is fully accessible, with nearby ADA parking spots, an elevator, and ramp access to make everything comfortable for all guests.

Question

What is the attire for the event?

Answer

For the Wedding Day we really wanted the chance to be fancy and celebrate, so the attire is Black Tie Formal. We kindly ask that guests dress in formal evening wear. A suit or tuxedo is required (no jeans, please). Floor-length gowns are encouraged for those who choose to wear dresses. The wedding is pretty much entirely inside, and all outside areas are paved, so heels are a safe footwear choice if you'd like. Think elegant and timeless. The other weekend events are a bit more casual/ semi-formal.

Question

Can I take Photos?

Answer

While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the experience. Our professional photographer will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll share the photos with you afterwards. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a distraction-free environment for our ceremony.

Question

Will alcohol be served at the wedding?

Answer

For the entire Wedding Day it will be open bar and alcohol will be served! For Welcome Drinks Friday night and the After-Party Saturday night, drinks will be available for purchase.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

June in Virginia is definitely SUMMER! However, a majority of the events will be inside, with only the cocktail hour being both inside and outside.

Question

Do you have gift registry?

Answer

Under the "Registry" Tab you will see out registry there, but we truly want you to know we appreciate you joining us to celebrate our love, so please do not feel any obligation to give a gift! Also, our gift registry might look a little different with very few items and more "experiential based" gifts. After more than a decade together, we’ve already built a home (and somehow ended up with two toasters and four blenders!). Instead of household items, what we’d love most are experiences and memories we can share together — from travel adventures to local date nights to easing our big move for residency. Many of our gifts are set up so you can contribute any amount toward an experience or item; every little bit adds up to big memories! Thank you for helping us celebrate not just our wedding day, but the many adventures ahead.

Question

Can we request songs for the dance floor?

Answer

Yes! Add your favorite tunes to our Spotify playlist. We’ll make sure our DJ gets your official requests from the RSVP form — but if you’d like to join in building our pre-wedding hype playlist, add songs on Spotify too! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/07o3bHJiAyxlkgGiCr7dwn?si=yLzEdLshQFOikHmpyxRaAQ&pt=e36423c9b37adacd077d875d6eb4c20f&pi=w2Nj6X6LRBqJL
