Flight
We recommend flying into Cancun International Airport and utilizing the transportation services outlined below to get to Isla Mujeres, as there is not a direct flight to the island. Southwest offers nonstop flights between Kansas City and Cancun. They typically open up their schedule 7 to 8 months ahead fo time.
Travel Note
We have partnered with CARM to help arrange your private airport transportation to and from the ferry dock, as well as ferry tickets, with a discount promo code. The promo code (COMING SOON!) is valid for all one way & round trip transfers to Isla Mujeres for $5 USD off a round trip transfer or $2 USD off a one way transfer (when booked online & everyone is on the same flight numbers) on our website: https://www.cancunandrivieramaya.com/transfers/isla-mujeres.asp You must enter the promo code on the first page of booking. Your location will auto-fill as: Gran Puerto Juarez Ultramar Ferry Dock. There will be on option to add ferry tickets while purchasing. Promo codes are not valid for: phone or email reservations, non-airport transfers, or multi-flight arrivals, and may not be applied retro-actively. Guests may not book airport arrivals online on the website if people are not arriving on the same exact flight number and want to share a van-You must email to see if that is possible. We recommend booking as soon as you have your flights. **Things to know about booking for Isla Mujeres*** 1- Do not book a flight that lands to the Cancun Airport after 8:15 PM (the last ferry to the island is at 11:00 PM) 2- Do not book a flight that departs the Cancun airport before 10:00 AM. (The first ferry from the island in the morning is 6:00 AM, with a 6:20 AM pick up, you will arrive at the airport by approximately 7:30 AM.) Transportation on the island is not included as private transportation companies are not allowed to operate on Isla Mujeres. When arriving to the island there will be a taxi stand to the left of the ferry terminal. The hotels on North Beach are a quick ride and range from $5-$10. When your trip is over, your departure confirmation voucher will tell you what time you must board the ferry leaving Isla Mujeres and what time your van will be picking you up at the Gran Puerto Juarez Ultramar Ferry Dock in Cancun.
Travel Note
When booking your hotel you will see that many of the options listed below do not include all inclusive. This is something about the island that we love! There are many fabulous restaurants and bars within walking distance from the hotels. Most guests will likely arrive on Tuesday, April 28th and depart either Saturday, May 2nd or Sunday, May 3rd. You are more than welcome to stay for the amount of time that works best for you! Many people choose to also rent a golf cart to explore the island and places that are not within walking distance. More information will be posted regarding golf cart rentals and transportation on the island as we get closer to the wedding date.
Hotel
We have stayed at this hotel many times & we love it. This is where the wedding party and family will be staying the week of the wedding. To reserve a room you will email Playa Arena (inforeservationplaya@yahoo.com) stating you would like to book a room under the room block ‘Emery & Brett”. There is a 10% discount upon booking and a 25% deposit will be needed to book the room. The room block is guaranteed until June 30th so if you plan to stay at this hotel it is better to book sooner rather than later. The room block is from Tuesday, April 28th to Sunday, May 3rd. That being said you are more than welcome to arrive earlier or stay later. It is not an all inclusive- but remember, all inclusive is not necessary on the island!
