Since the day we met, it's been a wild ride... which is very on-brand for both us! We matched on a dating app but ended up meeting in person for the first time after I was pressured into inviting him to my 30th birthday party and he was pressured into accepting the invite and showing up! So we have our loyal friends to credit for our first meeting and we love them for it!! We ended up going out 5 times over the next week and have been together ever since. A month after we met, I broke my leg in a bad ski accident and the way Brett cared for me and supported me through a very difficult recovery was amazing. Then a few months later, he tore his ACL in a snowmobiling accident. So we spent the first 8 months of our relationship processing major accidents, surgeries, out of work, learning to walk again and getting to know each other as we spent our days on the couch. We cried together a lot, but we also laughed together so much more than we would have ever imagined possible through such hard times! Which quickly confirmed to both of us that we wanted to be together. One of our first dates was ice skating so Brett decided to replicate that date for our engagement. He almost surprised me (which is impossible to do!) and I wasn't really suspicious that it was happening until the day we got engaged! He planned a perfect surprise with friends in the distance taking pictures and a surprise party at his house afterwards. And despite his injuries, he managed to get down on one knee, on ice skates! A true testament to physical therapy! We love to laugh about what a wild ride the whole relationship has been and how we never would have imagined how this would all work out! We are both so thankful to have a relationship where we can support one another in the deepest ways. We can't wait to celebrate our marriage with all the people who have loved us and been our friends and family supporting us throughout all the stages of our life! It means the world to us to have our people walking alongside us as we move into a new stage of life!
