Meet Our Fabulous Wedding Party These incredible humans have been with us through thick and thin, and now they’re here to help us celebrate our big day. Rather than us giving the details, we’ll let them take the stage and share their awesomeness with you!

Jake Hummel

Best Man

Hey everyone, I'm Jake, Brett's older brother. I'm honored to be a part of their special day as the best man. From growing up in bunk beds as kids (always fighting for the top bunk) to now living 3.06 miles from each other, Brett and I have always been close. Some might even say too close after spending time with the two of us, when we've made the 43rd bad "I hardly know her!" joke. After Brett's time in California for college, he had the idea that I fly out there and drive home to Colorado with him, stopping at as many national/state parks as possible. We packed his Honda Civic to the brim and embarked on a 7 day road trip that we'll both remember forever. We learned how great we work as a team, even when we completely wing it. Most nights were a scramble to find the cheapest nearby campsite as the sun was quickly setting. Pitching a crappy tent is usually a tough task - now try it in the pitch black wilderness after a 10 mile hike! I'm excited for all his future adventures, both with and without me. I haven't known Courtney nearly as long as I've known Brett, but she has become a special part of my family. From the very beginning we could all tell Courtney was here to stay. We knew Brett was smitten and when we met her, we immediately knew why! I am very excited to have Courtney officially become a part of the family. Let's celebrate!

Abbey Ritter

Maid of Honor

Hi I’m Abbey. Court and I have been best friends for over 13 years. We struck up a friendship in freshman year of high school and it has never changed. When I first met her she was always the outgoing bubbly person and still is to this day. She always finds the good in people and is very passionate about her friends and family. We actually lived together for a couple of years and it was the best time of my life. It was so special to wake up knowing your best friend was also there under the same roof. We’ve laughed, cried and shared everything together. Courtney is one of the most cherished parts of my life and I don’t know what I would do without such a spunky gal. I am so excited to be part of her bridal journey and can’t wait to stand by her side as she marries the man of her dreams. Congratulations to Courtney and Brett.

Mack Hummel

Groomsman

Brett has had the privilege of being my older brother for the past 25 years. Some of my favorite memories with him include our cross-country road trip to Florida and our adventure in Yellowstone. While he and his friends often pummelled me in the basement, he also shared invaluable advice as we grew up. I’m so excited that my brother found a girl like Courtney, who brings out the absolute best in him. Cheers!

Morgan Limkeman

Matron of Honor

I’m Morgan! I was lucky enough to meet Courtney through my husband. He came home one day talking about this incredible woman at work who was driven, talented, and constantly pushing him to grow. From that moment, I knew she would be someone special in my life. Courtney, you’re the kind of friend who fills every moment with joy and laughter. You have this amazing ability to inspire growth while understanding exactly where I am, and I treasure that about you. Your love for life and the people around you is absolutely contagious. I’m so grateful to have you by my side—not just as a best friend, but as someone who shares in creating memories and dreams we’ll cherish forever. I can’t wait for all the moments still ahead of us and to stand by your side on your most special day, sharing the love that make you who you are.

Jacob Stockebrand

Groomsman

Brett and I's friendship started during recess at Coal Creek, most likely playing "touch" football up on the big field. Our friendship kept growing from playing wiffle in the backyard all summer to terrorizing Louisville. From all our fun, I knew we would always have each other's backs. I've been able to have deep talks with Brett all the while knowing I'll only receive genuine answers and advice. I truly do appreciate the honesty I will always receive from him and having him as a best friend. Brett first told me about Courtney with the story of how they met and that he was driving out to Utah to help her move to Colorado after her car accident. It caught me off guard because I know if he was willing to do this, she must be a special girl. Then when I met her in person, I knew she was right for Brett. Able to handle the fun bs and loved his character. I'm excited to see you guys keep growing together and grateful that both of you are my friends.

Claire Sagun

Bridesmaid

Hello, my name is Claire, I'm Courtney's younger sister. She's my best friend, I have had the pleasure of knowing her all my life. I remember when we used to dance around the house and sing Ke$ha together. I used to love it when she picked me up from high school my freshman year. I am so happy for her and glad to see her so happy with Brett. I am beyond grateful to be apart of this magical wedding.

Connor Welch

Groomsman

Brett and I went to the same elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. We became close from skiing, playing super smash bros, and drinking a lot of mountain dew. These days we bond over ice fishing and hunting. I was one of the first CO friends to meet Courtney. She stayed with us for a night after a ski trip and I could immediately sense the chemistry between the two. Brett and Courtney were also kind enough to let me crash in their basement for a while. I loved to mess around with the cats (RIP Zeppelin <3). I look forward to celebrate the two this coming summer. If you see a man with a mullet, feel free to say hello!

Morgan Bilyeu

Bridesmaid

Hi! My name is Morgan and I am Courtney’s step sister! I have had the privilege of knowing Courtney since I was eight years old. We grew up making funny music videos, watching countless hours of Pretty Little Liars, and playing volleyball together. Now, we get to experience things like going to The Kentucky Oaks together! I am so excited to be apart of Courtney and Brett’s big day and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. Cheers!

Cole Cucinella

Groomsman

When I first met Brett, it was at a fraternity rush event freshman year. I remember looking at him across the backyard, absolutely wowing and charming a crowd (I would learn that this is typical of Brett), with his eye catching hair cut and skate(?) shoes and thinking "Damn, if he can get in, I sure can" Low and behold, 9 years later, a fantastic senior year house mate, a 6 week backpacking trip across Asia, and plenty of flights back and forth to visit each other between OC and CO, I'm very greatful and proud to have the life of the party as one of my best friends. You go champ!

Melissa Estler

Matron of Honor

Hi - I am Melissa Estler (previously known as Melissa Gordon) for all of my local folks. I’ve known the Hummel’s for as long as I can remember. Our moms were close friends through book club and all of us kids grew up knowing each other. It was a ban of family friends who felt like second cousins. I first met Courtney at the Hummel’s cabin up in Breck right after Christmas. Our love story starts when I left a water bottle in the Hummel’s laundry room. Courtney being the sweetheart she is reached out a few days later telling me she found it. And the rest was history. Through countless tailgates, cookouts and girls nights we’ve cultivated a wonderful friendship and I can’t wait to see these two incredible people to tie the knot.

Patrick Nasiatka

Groomsman

Hello, I’m Patrick. I grew up in Louisville, just down the road from Brett. Our relationship began like most… unexpectedly. In the beginning, Brett’s parents infamously liked me more than he did! We played high school football together and would always find time to play poker or pool at Jacob’s house after practices and games. As we grew older, we spent late nights breaking down rap lyrics and watching boxing. Even when we went to different colleges, our friendship remained the same, and we always picked right back up where we left off. Brett has always been such a blessing in my life—he’s quick to put those he loves and cares about first. He has the innate ability to make those around him feel confident and comfortable, even in the most uncomfortable situations. I’m so proud of him for finding a woman who shares so many of these beautiful qualities. Courtney truly brings out the best in my friend. Cheers to you both on such a beautiful day!

Marisole Soderberg

Bridesmaid

I’ve watched Courtney and Brett’s relationship grow since the beginning and have loved every second! I met Brett first because he was close friends with my fiance Jacob. A little while later, Brett introduced us to his lovely new girlfriend, Courtney, whom I have developed a great friendship with since. We have connected over a love of fitness and painting/crafts and I know I can always go to her and receive honesty, realness, and encouragement. I know I’ll always have a true friend in Courtney and Brett and I can’t wait to be a part of their big day!

Dane Low

Groomsman

I met Brett his Freshman year of college, we were roommates for a couple of years until graduation. Once Brett graduated and moved back to CO, I always looked forward to our annual ski trip to Breck to catch up and make some awesome memories. Whether it was balcony BBQs in SLO, watching football, or placing bets, Brett always brought the life to the party. Our yearly ski trip is a constant reminder of how good the good times can be, and I'm glad to be able to enjoy the great outdoors with Brett. Now fast forward some years, I finally moved out to Colorado! My first month in Colorado, I had the pleasure to meet Courtney, and since then it has been amazing to be able to watch Brett and Courtney grow their love and relationship. I'm happy that he has found a partner for life!

Monica Roman

Bridesmaid

Hi I'm Monica, I met Courtney in Louisville. We met working at the same place and became friends soon after. Courtney’s authenticity stood out to me the moment I met her! With our other beloved friend (Nicole), we made a blueprint plan for moving out west. Of course, Courtney’s go-getter personality was the first to leave and I soon followed her out to Denver. The time we’ve been out here has led to becoming closer and I’ve witnessed Courtney and Brett’s love and commitment to each other grow. I am so excited to be a part of their special day!

Sam Fredricksmeyer

Officiant

I met Brett as a kindergartener—he was wearing a Brett Favre jersey, and I decided to start screaming “Brett” at him, not knowing it was his actual name. Apparently, obnoxious screaming was the best way to befriend Brett, and from there, we were the best of buddies growing up. Whether it was playing tackle football in his basement, wiffle ball in his backyard, or cops and robbers throughout his whole house, many of my childhood memories are with Brett. I'm just getting to know Courtney, but I've been astonished by her groundedness, kindness, and humor. Brett and Courtney understand each other on a deep level, know how to see the best in each other, and know how to encourage each other towards growth. I am so honored to be a part of their big day!
