We met at our friend Gianni's birthday party on August 7th, 2020, just before entering our junior year of high school. One week later, Brett admitted he had been thinking about Alivia and asked Gianni for her number. We got in touch and couldn’t stop talking. Our first hangout was for Alivia’s 16th birthday. She was so nervous to see Brett that she got sick that morning! With COVID still around, we could only hang out outside during the winter months, going on hikes and planning picnics in the freezing cold just so we could still see each other. We officially started dating on November 7th, 2020. Brett proposed to Alivia on February 15th, 2026. Knowing it must be coming soon, Alivia was suspicious, so Brett had to be extra careful. Over break, he told her he was going to his friend Simon’s house for an intense game night and wouldn’t be on his phone. In reality, he was designing her ring with his sisters and her maid of honor. Then, Brett and his sisters came up with the ultimate plan. His sister, Meredith, “won” a free photoshoot giveaway with photographer Kenzie Siren in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, but just a few days beforehand, she “suddenly had to travel” for work. She offered the photoshoot to us, and of course, Alivia couldn’t turn it down. We took the photos, explored shops in the city, and then made our way into Robbie’s Community Market. Little did Alivia know, a room in the back had been set up with roses, candles, the photographer, and photos of us throughout our relationship. After walking through this trip down memory lane, Brett proposed....and Alivia said yes! To top it all off, our friends, family, and lots of pizza were hiding nearby to surprise her. She had absolutely no idea! Both of us share a love of science and chose to attend Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, supporting each other every step of the way. Alivia majors in Microbiology, and Brett will be becoming a cardiovascular perfusionist. We graduate in May 2026 and will be moving to Syracuse as Brett attends Upstate Medical University for Perfusion School!
