There is no shortage of beaches in the area. Try Siesta Beach, Lido Key Beach, or if you are staying further south in Venice, check out Venice Beach (and grab some gelato on Venice Ave. while you’re at it!)
Bikes are a great way to get around if you are staying local to the downtown area. We have also done an E-Bike Sunset tour on Siesta Key Beach that was awesome, especially if you’ve never rode an E-Bike Before!
If you’re looking to add a little activity to your day we recommend renting Kayaks or SUP’s. There are many locations to rent them. We enjoy renting from Ultimate Kayak SRQ which is located at Turtle Beach. At that location you can paddle on the bay side where it is a little calmer and get to a private beach only accessible by boat.
St. Armand's has restaurants, clothing shops, souvenir shops, galleries, ice cream and is just a short walk away from the beach.
Located on the Myakka River, at the end of a dirt road. This place has food, occasional live music, and canoe rentals. See how many alligators you can spot while canoeing on the river!
There are several small charter fishing boats which fit 4-5 people. They offer near shore and offshore fishing. I did a trip a few years ago with Off the Grid Fishing Charters and it was a blast. We caught so many fish and were set on food for days! Definitely recommend it if you like to fish and are renting an Airbnb where you can cook up what you catch.

There are a few local beaches which hold morning and sometimes sunset yoga classes for a small donation. At Venice Beach look up Yoga with Elin for class times. At Nokomis North Jetty Beach, Katja and Lou hold classes (Nokomis Beach Yoga). For an added challenge try Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga www.supyogasrq.com.
We have gotten very into pickleball our past few Florida trips, many courts require you to bring your own net and paddles. We have a set that you can borrow if you want to play!
