See austere classics like Les Mis, American imports like Wicked, two-part blockbusters like The Cursed Child and Stranger Things, and new pop hits like Six. Plus, there are always limited runs of shows with Emmy/Oscar winning actors and shockingly cheap tickets History/Royalty - Go listen to ghost stories and see famous execution sights at the Tower of London, try and book a tour of Buckingham Palace, walk through Westminster Abbey for stunning architecture and countless celebrity graves, stop by Hampton Court and see Henry VIII’s chapel or the great hall where Shakespeare entertained Elizabeth I, head out to Windsor to check out the the royal family’s ancient weekend fortress, and stop by the British Museum to see a bunch of jaw dropping history that does not come from or belong to England. Parks- SO many. Regents, Hyde, St. James, Green, Richmond, and Primrose Hill for starters.
It's undeniably the most beautiful city in the United Kingdom and one of the most impressive cities in all of Europe. Walk down romantic cobblestone streets lined with picturesque Georgian architecture. Spot the imposing Edinburgh Castle up on its perch from almost anywhere in town. And then visit the castle itself to explore a millennia old fortress and encounter some Stuart dynasty realness. Summit Arthur’s Seat and take in views of both the Atlantic coast and the sprawling city on the same hike. Try some fried mars bars and blood pudding so you can say you tried Scottish cuisine. And then immediately get some world class non-Scottish food to restore your faith in food. Stop by the national gallery to stare at paintings of all the Jacobites you could ever want to see. And of course think of Harry Potter since this city birthed the idea in that one woman’s mind.
This park is less than an hour from our wedding venue and provides some classic highland views- clear lochs, rolling valleys and emerald peaks. And you can always head even farther north to Loch Lomond, Loch Ness and Inverness if you’re wanting a full highland tour.
