Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, we have an on-site room block at our wedding venue, Borris House. Please see Travel tab for all the details relative to accommodations.

What weather should I expect?

Answer

May is one of the best times to be in Ireland, with lengthening days and an average high temperature of an almost balmy 59F (15C). While the Irish weather can never be guaranteed, generally the weather in the month of May can be quite good, with not too much rain and is favorable for sightseeing.

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Suits or dress slacks and sports jacket (tie optional) for men. Evening dresses, cocktail length or long for women.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Yes, the couple is hosting a welcome get-together at a lovely local pub, Joyce's, on Friday evening. Please see Schedule tab for more details.

What are my options for dinner on Friday, after I check in?

Answer

There are a few options for dinner: The Step House Bar & Restaurant is right across the street from the entrance to our venue (reservations required for the restaurant, not needed for the bar). O’Shea’s pub is a lovely pub a few doors down and serves food until 6pm. There are a few casual take out places right on the main street of Borris village as well.

What kind of adapter do I need to keep my electronics charged in Ireland?

Answer

You will need to use a plug adapter to fit a US plug into an Irish power outlet. As the voltage is different in Ireland, bring a power converter if your device or appliance isn't dual voltage and ensure that it is compatible with a 50hz power outlet. If you don’t already have an adapter, Amazon has a variety of affordable choices.
