Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As early as possible, but the latest is 60 days prior to the wedding - so please RSVP by August 4th 2025. Please also try to book your lodging by then, as we want to ensure that the options that suit you best will be available.

How do I get there?

Answer

We recommend driving, including for those of you arriving at CHO (Charlotteville airport). We sadly cannot recommend any specific rental service but the (Enterprise, Hertz, Avis) rentals at the airport will be most convenient. From there it is a relatively easy and very scenic 1 hour drive to the resort. For those of you who must take or choose to take Blue Ridge Parkway, expect especially windy roads and lots of elevation changes. Once at the resort Mountain Inn (Guest Check-In), you will want to park in lot C, and the welcome desk will instruct you further on overnight parking. You will then most likely leave your car, and take a shuttle to and from your lodging. As stated above it will be best for you to take the shuttle to and from the ceremony and the reception. If you cannot drive, you can schedule an uber or coach from the airport to the resort. You can also try to schedule a car-pool with other guests by contacting Brendon Patierno 703-405-8184 at least four weeks prior to the wedding.

Where should we stay?

Answer

Please take a look at our “Travel” tab to answer this question. For additional clarification… yes the wintergreen resort studios and condos are your best option. These can have a variety of discounts through our toll free number depending on how soon you call as well as what seasonal rates they may or may not offer. This lodging will put you as close as possible to both our ceremony and our reception and will also enable access to a free shuttle which will take you to any and all “on mountain” locations so that you can leave your car in the guest parking lot (generally lot C but ask the front desk once you arrive). You can of course find additional BnB’s not listed through Wintergreen Resort (airBnB, Vrbo, etc..) both “on mountain” as well as “down mountain.” If you are planning a longer stay and do not mind a longer drive to where the wedding activities will be, renting a “down-mountain” home puts you closer to local specialty stores, wineries, and breweries!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There will be a shuttle service that will pick you up and bring you back to your lodging for the ceremony, so you will not need to worry about parking for the ceremony or reception. If you do want to drive, there will be parking spots at the reception but there will not be parking for the ceremony. There will be a shuttle picking guests up at the reception location prior to the ceremony, so you can park your car there and then take the shuttle to the ceremony. The ceremony and shuttle are both on the mountain.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, there will be a shuttle service that will bring guests to and from the ceremony / reception. There will also be a free shuttle service that will return any guests to their rooms/lodging as long as it was booked within the Wintergreen Resort lodging. Please see the travel page for instructions on booking your lodging.

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding will be semi-formal/cocktail attire. Think: blazers, suit jackets, or suits with dress shoes; dresses, jumpsuits, or elegant separates. The reception is (hopefully) outdoors and on a brick patio… Anyone planning to wear heels, we recommend heels that you can wear in grass and brick outdoor flooring - such as chunky heels or wedges rather than stilettos.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Our guest list consists of strictly adults and we will be encouraging our adult guests to be care-free and dance like nobody is watching! There will not be separate meals, spaces, or entertainment planned for children and so we do not recommend bringing your kids.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know when RSVPing if you have any food allergies or food related requests and we will ensure your needs are accommodated for. As vegans, we feel you and will make sure you are able to enjoy the food options available worry-free.

What’s the food situation?

Answer

We are hosting a buffet style dinner. There will also be small plates/ finger food stations available during the cocktail hour and leading up to dinner. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when RSVPing so we can ensure your restrictions or allergies are accommodated.
