We met on Hinge (the app 'Designed to be Deleted' they say). Sofia was Brenden's first match and hoping to avoid small talk, Brenden's first message to Sofia was "Want to grab a drink?" One week later, we went to a Timberwolves game and Sofia mentioned she would be moving to Milwaukee that coming August. We thought for a long time that things would be casual (LOL) until 10 months later when Brenden moved to Milwaukee. A year after that, we moved to Chicago and here we are 5 years later ready to spend the rest of our lives together.

At the precipice of our hike on the Honopu Ridge Trail in Kauai, HI (now forever referred to as Proposal Ridge), Brenden set down his phone to snap some photos (or so Sofia thought). As he was setting up the video, and with Sofia distracted by posing for what she thought were pics, Brenden knelt down on one knee and popped the question. Sofia was completely caught off guard and it's one of our favorite memories. It was an emotional and joyful moment that we'll never forget.
