Brendan and Nikki first met in Dayton, Ohio, through mutual friends. The friend group they were part of quickly became inseparable, brought together by a shared love for travel and new experiences. Together, they explored Nashville, Chicago, and even made a trip out to Amsterdam. Those adventures built a strong foundation of friendship, and before long, Brendan and Nikki’s connection grew into something more. They officially started dating in December of 2022, beginning a two-year stretch of long-distance while Brendan moved to Enid, Oklahoma to begin pilot training, and Nikki remained in Dayton. In February of 2024, Brendan learned he would be stationed in Oklahoma as an Instructor Pilot for the next four years. Naturally, Nikki began job hunting in Oklahoma City—and after nine long months of searching, she made the move to join him. Together, they settled into a new home, explored their new city, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Six months later, Brendan and Nikki traveled back to Amsterdam with their friends Ryan and Maria. Nikki thought it was just a fun little couple's trip to see the tulips, but Brendan had other plans. In a charming fishing village they had first visited years before, Brendan got down on one knee and asked Nikki to marry him. Of course, she said yes! To make the moment even sweeter, Brendan had one more surprise: both of their families and Nikki’s best friend had flown to Amsterdam to celebrate. It was the perfect start to the next chapter of their lives together.
