For the history buffs, you can tour a once-active naval aircraft carrier. Fun fact: Chloe’s grandfather, Charles Hopper, served on the Midway in VA22, which is pretty cool.
Petco Park
Padres are in town all weekend, so Petco Park is a fun option if you’re up for a game.
San Diego Zoo
Giant pandas, polar bears, meerkats, monkeys, hippos… kind of hard to go wrong.
San Diego Zoo Safari Park
Animals, plus a jeep-style safari experience. No pandas, but you do get platypuses.
LEGOLAND California
Honestly not just for kids. It’s about an hour away and a really fun option if you’re looking for something to do—though we’d recommend bringing a kid.
