This is our FAVORITE place to visit. RMNP located in Estes Park, CO is about an hour drive from Longmont, CO. A heads up, to get into the park you have to purchase a day pass. If you aren't up for hiking, we would still recommend just driving through the park. The views are stunning! *Very important- You lose cell phone service about 20-25 minutes outside of Estes Park so be sure to put directions in before you leave. Cell phone service is spotty inside Estes Park and there is no service once you are inside the park.
True Colorado-style pizza. Our recommendation is to get the Mountain Pie style!
If you're able to, we highly recommend spending some time in Denver! The RiNo neighborhood has tons of breweries to check out. The Highlands neighborhood (where we live) has lots of cool bars and restaurants. If you make it downtown, you'll want to check out Union Station and the Dairy Block. The Dairy Block has shops, restaurants, and even a winery. Right across the street from Union Station is our favorite taco spot, Machete and then for those Pittsburghers Society on Blake Street is a Pittsburgh Bar. Ask for Will the owner, he's the best!
Just 10 minutes west of Longmont and offers gorgeous easy hikes with 3 choices of 2.5-3.5 mile trails. Recommend Eaglewind Trail for first visits. This hike has beautiful views and wildflowers (especially in the spring).
A hidden gem right in Boulder's backyard. This spot is great for picnics, hiking, or fly fishing the streams. Eldorado Canyon has three trails of note. The Fowler Trail is easy, the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail is moderate, and the Eldorado Canyon Trail is more difficult. A heads up, a day vehicle pass to enter is $10.
Hiking is one of our favorite things to do together! There are tons of good hiking trails of all skill levels nearby as well as an hour or two away. Our best recommend would be to download "Hiking Project" or "AllTrails" You can search on the app for trails based off difficulty level, nearby, or in a specific area. It will also have recent conditions so you can prepare what to wear/bring. At the end of April, certain trails may still be snowy or may be really muddy from snow melting. If you are coming from sea level, you will feel the elevation. Be careful to not do anything too intense when you first arrive. Drinks lots and lots of water!
Pearl Street Mall is located in downtown Boulder. There are tons of shops and restaurants that line the street for blocks. Boulder is about a 20 minute drive from Longmont.
A great place in Longmont to try small batch and nationally-distributed beers as well as take a brewery tour.
We love this place! Great brewery with amazing food! If the weather is nice, they have a big outside patio. They also offer tours.
Abbott & Wallace is a whiskey and rum distillery in downtown Longmont, Colorado, home to Longtucky Spirits. Colorado’s only distillery canning ultra premium cocktails from hyper-local ingredients. Longtucky is a celebration of Longmont’s agricultural history and handcrafted culture.
