Larry Chitwood Trailhead
One of our favorite hikes! It’s beautiful juniper trees and wildlife make it a sight-seers dream, and it’s only about three miles long!
Drake Park
There are so many parks and walking trails around the Deschutes River that are breathtaking! Drake Park is one of our favorite locations and perfect for an easy walk or a tranquil cup of coffee by the river.
Will Leather Goods
This is an amazing store! Handcrafted leather items that are stunning and a very sweet and accommodating staff. Derreck and I both had gifts made here the last time we visited and I have zero regrets! Will Leather Co. is part of the Old Mill District in Bend that has tons of great stores and restaurants including Derreck's favorite REI store and an amazing pasta joint overlooking the amphitheater and the river!
Pilot Butte
This is a gorgeous viewpoint. In good weather, you can see each of the surrounding mountains that circle the city of Bend. There is a large compass in the center of the viewpoint that provides the distance to each respective peak. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking to take photos!
High Desert Museum
One of Derreck's favorite attractions in Central Oregon (mostly because there's otters, and Derreck loves otters). Gorgeous and stimulating, this museum has interconnected exhibits that are interactive and interesting. The grounds outside of the main building have some historic information as well as some animals to see!
