Who am I to write this story when our almighty Jesus is the true author. From the initial moments, there was complete surrender, a quiet knowing in our hearts that the Lord was working within us. A simple December evening would be the start of a new beginning and place a calling upon our lives. There was no warning, no sign, no indication of what was to come. Oh, but when it did, everything seemed to be exactly where it belonged. They say you’ll know when it’s right. For us, it was written long before we understood the words. It wasn’t something we reasoned into being, or searched for in signs. There were no long debates, no unraveling doubts in the quiet. It came gently, not with striving, but with peace. The kind of peace that surpasses all understanding, steady and sure. A quiet certainty, one that doesn’t shout, but remains. From the very beginning, we knew. The Lord has led us into this covenant and has blessed us with a purpose: to build His Kingdom. He has heard every lonesome prayer, knowing the time was almost upon us. Leading us so that we may gently fall into one another. We walk and grow in this testimony day by day, rejoicing that He is sovereign over all things. For He has done a good thing in us. But our story would be nothing without His. The Redeemer, our Father, the one who calls us Beloved. All praises be to Him!
My love, One year of knowing you were my one. My one heart, one true friend, and one forever. Every single piece of my heart knew that you were it. This you know, but I will keep saying it for the rest of our lives. The Lord was gracious, and out of my youth and dreaming, He brought you into my life. Throughout this time, you have given me a gift: I see a reflection of how Jesus loves me through you. Although they may be different, I am blessed to have my soon-to-be husband love me with such passion and grace. We learn from each other, quietly, boldly, and with much depth. Honoring you is something I will learn and continue to do for the rest of my days. I know there are times my flaws may shine a little brighter, but in the end, it is my love for you that overflows. I give you everything I have, Isaac, I love you. ~Brecken
To my beautiful girl, Oh, how I love your laugh, your smile, your beauty, your kindness, your faith… how did I get this? Jesus. That’s how. I will praise Him every day for the gift we share. I am beyond blessed today and forevermore. You are my greatest encouragement to become the man of God I’m called to be, and I will continue striving to lead and love you well for the rest of my life. I never could have imagined this is where I would be, but fully surrendering everything to God and allowing Him to guide us has been the most beautiful experience of my life. I wouldn’t want it any other way. You are my best friend, my other half, my true love without a doubt. And knowing I get you forever puts the biggest smile on my face… and it always will. This is true joy. Forever yours. ~Isaac
