Flight
Denver International Airport (DEN) is the closest airport to the festivities.
Hotel
We are staying at the Horseshoe Black Hawk. It is a 15-minute drive to the ceremony location, and a 30-minute drive back from the dinner location. We were unable to secure a block anywhere, but Black Hawk is a small mountain casino town with lots of casino hotels. It does not have any of the "traditional" hotel chains, like a Hilton or a Marriott, and it is 60-90 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. The drive, though, is one of our favorites! Please note that Black Hawk sits at an average elevation of over 8,500 feet.
Hotel
For guests wary of the elevation, Golden, CO is a good option. It sits at an average of 5,700 feet. It is quaint and has a historic, Old West charm--almost as if Chagrin Falls were plopped in an old mining setting. It does not have your traditional hotel brands. The center of Downtown Golden is 30 minutes to the ceremony location, and 15-20 minutes from the dinner location.
Hotel
Unlike the small historic mountain towns, Lakewood is a suburb of Denver, and it is where you will start to find your traditional hotel chains. The elevation is around 5,500 feet. Lakewood is pretty large, but from its center, it is about 45 minutes to the ceremony location and 15-20 minutes from the dinner location. While this is the farthest from the wedding festivities, it is the closest to the airport.
